Mamasita Annatto Powder 10g

Mama Sita’s Achuete Powder – Cornstarch Mix 10g — a convenient Filipino cooking ingredient made from annatto (achuete/achiote) seeds and cornstarch. It adds a beautiful yellow-orange to red-orange colour and a mildly sweet, nutty flavour to a variety of dishes. Perfect for Filipino recipes such as kare-kare, sauces, marinades, stews, seafood dishes and achuete rice.

Ingredients: Extract of Annatto Seeds (73%), Cornstarch.

Cooking Directions: Dissolve 1 teaspoon (2.4g) in 1 tablespoon (15ml) water before adding to the dish being cooked. To make achuete/achiote oil, dissolve 1 tablespoon (7g) in 1 tablespoon (15ml) cooking oil. Add more oil if a lighter colour is desired.

Storage: Store in a clean, cool and dry place.
