Mamasita Papaitan Mix 40g

Mama Sita’s Ilocano Pinapaitan (Bitter Stew) Mix 40g — a convenient Filipino seasoning mix for preparing traditional Pinapaitan, a popular Ilocano bitter stew with distinctive citrus and savoury flavours. Made with garlic, ginger, lemon peel, onion and chilli, it provides an easy way to recreate this traditional Filipino regional dish at home.

Ingredients: Salt, Garlic Powder, Ginger Powder, Lemon Peel Powder, Flavour Enhancers (Monosodium Glutamate, Disodium Inosinate, Disodium Guanylate), Acidity Regulator (Citric Acid), Onion Powder, Chilli Powder.

Preparation: Boil approximately 1kg of beef until very tender and reserve about 625ml of the broth. Dissolve one 40g pouch of Mama Sita’s Pinapaitan Mix in the broth. Add the mixture to the cooked beef together with green chilli, bring to a boil and simmer for about 5 minutes before serving.

Serving suggestion: Traditionally prepared with beef, beef tripe and other beef offal. A combination of brisket, liver and tripe may be used according to preference.

Storage: Store in a clean, cool and dry place.
