Mamasita Tocino Mix 75g

Mama Sita’s Tocino Marinading Mix 75g — a convenient Filipino marinating mix for preparing delicious traditional Tocino, known for its sweet, sticky and savoury flavour. Perfect for marinating thinly sliced pork, chicken or other meat before pan-frying, grilling or baking.

Ingredients: Cane Sugar, Salt, Achuete Powder-Cornstarch Mix, Acidity Regulator (Citric Acid).

Preparation: Sprinkle one 75g pouch of Mama Sita’s Tocino Mix evenly over approximately 500g of sliced meat. Mix well and marinate for at least 1 hour. For best results, the meat can be marinated for longer. Cook in a pan with enough water to cover the meat, bring to a boil and simmer until the water evaporates. Continue cooking until the meat becomes glossy and caramelised. Alternatively, pan-fry, grill or bake, basting with the remaining marinade.

Serving suggestion: Traditionally served with garlic fried rice and a fried egg as part of a Filipino breakfast known as Tocilog.
